Petr Topka specializes in corporate law, intellectual property and information technology law, food law and dispute resolution.

Before he co-founded rovenska.partners in 2016, Petr worked for the Prague office of White & Case, where he was involved in a number of major projects, both domestic and cross-border. Prior to that, from 2006 until 2011, Petr worked for the law firm Horák & Chvosta, first in the role of a trainee lawyer and subsequently as attorney (advokát).

Petr’s work within his corporate-law practice mostly involves advising clients on the establishment of companies, mergers and demergers, as well as share transactions. In the field of intellectual property law, Petr advises clients in connection with software development, acquisitions, drafting and negotiating of licensing conditions, domain name disputes, or proceedings before the (Czech) Industrial Property Office and the European Union Intellectual Property Office.

Petr has broad experience with the regulation of financial institutions and related proceedings before the Czech National Bank in its role as the Czech financial market regulator. During his secondment at the London office of White & Case, he was part of an international team advising a global bank in connection with an investigation by the FCA (Financial Conduct Authority).

Petr also advises pharmaceutical companies with respect to the regulation of advertising of pharmaceuticals and related proceedings before the State Institute for Drug Control. He has also acquired considerable expertise while representing food producers and vendors in proceedings before the Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority and State Veterinary Administration and in subsequent proceedings before the administrative courts.
